Loyalty Cards

Examples of work we've printed. We send a digital proof of your artwork before anything goes to press.

Loyalty Cards

Stamp cards, punch cards and rewards cards, on stock that takes ink.

A loyalty card is a business card that has to be written on. Same three tiers, same two sizes, printed in full colour.

The one difference is the finish. Gloss is off the list, because a gloss coating won't reliably hold a stamp, a punch mark or a biro, and that's the entire job.

Stock finish

No gloss on a loyalty card, deliberately. A gloss coating won't reliably hold a stamp, a punch mark or a biro, which is the one thing a loyalty card has to do.

Tier
Premium (350gsm)

Uncoated stock comes in 350gsm, so it's Premium. Switch to matte if you want Essential or Deluxe.

Printing

Most loyalty cards run double sided: branding on the front, the stamp grid on the back.

  • Fonts outlined or embedded so they don't substitute on our end
  • CMYK, not RGB screen colours don't survive the press unchanged
  • 300 dpi minimum at final size sharp at 5cm isn't sharp at 50cm
  • Keep important content 5mm inside the trim so nothing critical gets cut
  • Send Pantone references if brand colour is critical, and we'll get as close as CMYK allows

Start from our template

Print-ready PDFs set up at the right size with the bleed, trim and safe area already marked. Open one in Illustrator, InDesign or Affinity, drop your design in, and export.

Not sure? Send what you have. Our in-house design team checks every file before it goes to press and we'll tell you if something needs fixing before it costs you a reprint. Artwork preparation is quoted separately, and you'll never get a surprise line item.

Common questions

Why can't I have a gloss loyalty card?

Because you can't write on one. A gloss coating repels ink from a stamp pad or a biro and smudges rather than drying. Uncoated takes ink best, matte is the middle ground. If gloss matters more to you than stamping, what you want is a business card.

What sizes do you offer?

Traditional (90 x 55mm) and Modern (85 x 55mm), the same two as our business cards. They're priced the same, so pick whichever suits the design and the wallet it's going in.

What's the difference between Essential, Premium and Deluxe?

Stock weight. Essential is 300gsm, Premium 350gsm and Deluxe 400gsm. A heavier card survives longer in a wallet, which matters more on a loyalty card than on a business card because it has to last until it is full. One thing to know: uncoated stock comes in 350gsm, so an uncoated card is a Premium. Essential and Deluxe are matte.

How many stamps should I put on it?

That's a design decision rather than a printing one, but it changes how much room the back needs. Six, eight and ten are all common. Our in-house design team can set the grid out if you'd rather not.

What file do you need?

Print-ready PDF with 3mm bleed, fonts outlined or embedded, CMYK, 300 dpi minimum. There are downloadable templates for both sizes further down this page.

How long do they take?

Priority is 3–5 business days and standard is 5–7, both from artwork approval. Those are typical rather than a ceiling, and we confirm the date before you commit. If you are working to a deadline, tell us early and we will tell you straight away whether it is achievable.

Anything else

Something outside the standard spec?

The sizes above are priced the same, so pick whichever suits the design. Where it gets interesting is everything that isn't on this page.

  • How many stamps?

Six, eight, ten. It's a design decision rather than a printing one, but it changes how much room the back needs. Our design team can set the grid out if you'd rather not.

  • Something more durable than card

If a card lives in a wallet for a year, a heavier board or a laminate lasts better than paper. Tell us how long a card is meant to survive and we'll tell you what suits.

  • Matching your existing cards

Send us one. We'll match the stock, the finish and the trim so the loyalty card sits alongside your business cards rather than beside them.

Tell us the date. We'll tell you how it's possible.

Most quotes come back the same business day. Give us quantity, branding and deadline, and we can usually map out a way to get there.
