Ordering & payment
Quotes, setup, payment and changing an order.
How do I place an order?
The easiest way to get started is by requesting a quote through our website. Tip: the more detail you provide, the better we can tailor the right solution for you. Once your quote is approved, we'll take care of the artwork process and move your order into production. For larger quantities, custom requirements or fully tailored solutions, working directly with Capital Prints ensures the best result for your business. Only need a few, or need them this week? Our sister brand Tiddys™ lets you design and order online with quick and express turnaround options.
Is there a minimum order?
It depends on the decoration rather than the garment. The method, the size of the print and the number of colours all affect what's practical to run - so rather than a blanket rule, tell us what you're after and we'll tell you straight away whether it works. If it turns out to be a handful of pieces on a short deadline, there's a faster route.
Are there setup costs?
Most decorated orders carry some setup - preparing artwork for production, digitising a logo for embroidery, or getting a machine ready for a particular job. It's usually a one-off: once your artwork is prepared and on file, repeat orders reuse it. Where setup applies it's itemised on your quote, before you commit to anything. You won't find it as a surprise on an invoice.
Do you offer discounts for bulk orders?
Yep! Generally speaking the bigger the order the bigger the discount. Just reach out to our team directly to request a quote.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or by card via a secure payment link sent after your quote has been approved. A select few pre-approved customers may have account terms.
Can I pay when I collect my order?
Payment is usually required before production or collection to keep things running smoothly and ensure your order is ready on time. Be sure to check your payment terms - prepayment is generally the case, and for larger orders, we may request a deposit upfront to get things started. For the select few pre-approved customers with account terms, your order can be released without payment.
Can I change my order after approval?
Once you approve a quote, production gets underway pretty quickly. Changes may result in extra costs (like artwork fees or restocking charges), and if you need to cancel after approval, a cancellation fee will apply.
Can I get a sample before placing the full order?
Yes, for most products samples may be available upon request. These can be quoted at the time of request.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, we have a showroom available by appointment only. To ensure you get the most out of your visit, we ask that you contact our team in advance to book a time. This allows us to have the right samples prepared and a team member available to guide you through the options. Please note, our showroom is not open for walk-ins.
Artwork
What to send, and what we do with it.
What file formats do you accept for artwork?
We prefer vector files (EPS, AI, PDF) for the highest print quality. If you provide a different format (JPG, PNG), we may need to convert it, which is generally covered through the setup fees.
Will I receive a proof before production?
If your order includes a new design or product, you will receive a digital artwork proof for approval before production begins. It is your responsibility to review all details carefully, as changes cannot be made once approved. For straight repeat orders (where the design remains unchanged), a proof will not be provided, and the order will move directly into production to ensure a faster turnaround.
Can you match my exact brand colours?
We strive to match colours as accurately as possible, but slight variations (up to 10%) may occur due to different decoration methods, fabric types and consumables. If exact colour matching is critical, we recommend ordering a physical sample (fees apply).
What happens if my artwork has an error?
We print exactly as per the approved proof. While we do our best to identify any obvious errors, due to the high volume of orders, we cannot guarantee that all mistakes will be caught. It is your responsibility to carefully review and correct any errors before approving the proof.
Do you keep my artwork for reorders?
Yes. We keep your artwork and order specifications on file, so repeat orders are produced using the same files, processes and settings as the original - and they skip the proofing step, which makes them faster.
Turnaround & delivery
Every production time runs from artwork approval.
Can you do rush orders?
Sometimes! Well, most times! Get in touch, and we'll see what we can do. Priority fees may apply.
Do you offer delivery?
Yep! You can collect your order from our warehouse; have it shipped straight to a designated address anywhere in Australia (or the world for that matter!), with freight charges applying; or arrange your own collection or shipping from our warehouse - simply send us any labels to attach to the boxes and we'll make it available for collection. Collection is from 2/137 Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick, Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:30pm. For Digital Showroom™ and fulfilment clients we can deliver in bulk, split across sites, or ship direct to each recipient. Risk passes on dispatch or collection, and title stays with us until payment clears.
What if my delivery is delayed?
Once your order leaves our hands, any delays are outside of our control. You'll receive tracking details to follow up directly with the courier if needed and our team can certainly do what we can from our end to ensure any issues are sorted promptly.
Apparel & decoration
Which decoration method suits my garment?
For printed work the answer is usually DTF - it handles full colour and fine detail, carries one setup no matter how many colours are in the artwork, and suits any run size. It is the method behind almost all of our garment printing. Embroidery is the other default, stitched in rather than printed on, for uniforms and anything washed hard for years. From there it narrows: heat transfer vinyl for names and numbers, screen printed transfers where you specifically want the flatter screen print feel on a larger run, UltraColour™ where a uniform is being laundered commercially and hot, and sublimation for all-over prints on polyester. Tell us the garment and the artwork and we will tell you which one fits.
Can you match my brand colours on a garment?
On fabric we match to the closest available thread or ink rather than to a Pantone chip. Send us your Pantone references and we'll get as close as the method allows, and we'll tell you upfront where a colour is going to shift.
Can you decorate garments I supply myself?
Tell us what they are before you buy them. Some fabrics and finishes take decoration well and some don't, and we'd rather have that conversation before a box arrives than after. There's also the question of what happens if a garment is damaged in production, which is worth agreeing in advance.
Do you do names and numbers on team gear?
Yes. Individual names and numbers are usually heat transfer vinyl, which is why it exists. Send the list with the order and we'll set it up.
Print & signage
What stocks do you print on?
Four across our flyer family: uncoated at 100, 250 or 350gsm; matte and gloss at 128, 148, 170 or 250gsm; and synthetic at 190, 261 or 368gsm. Uncoated is the one you can write on. Synthetic is waterproof and antibacterial, so it suits menus and anything going outdoors. Business cards run their own board at 300, 350 or 400gsm.
What's the difference between a flyer and a brochure?
The fold. A flyer is a flat sheet. Anything folded is a brochure, and it's laid out differently from the start because the fold decides what someone sees first.
What file do you need for print?
A print-ready PDF, CMYK rather than RGB, fonts converted to outlines and every image embedded. Bleed and resolution vary by product - 3mm bleed and 300 dpi on sheet-fed work, 1mm bleed and 130 dpi on corflute, and large format needs far less resolution than people expect. Each product page carries its own requirements and downloadable templates where we have them.
Can you print signage as well?
Corflute signs and teardrop banners are on the site with full specs. Beyond those, tell us what the job is and where it's going and we'll tell you whether it's ours and what it involves.
Promotional products
How do promotional products work?
The promotional catalogue is thousands of items deep and lives on its own site, so you browse there and come back to us with what you've found. Add it to your quote here as a written line with the quantity and any notes, or just tell us what you're after and we'll come back with options.
Why can't I add promotional products to the quote bag from a product page?
Because the promotional catalogue is a separate system and doesn't push into this one. Building an add-to-quote button there would imply an integration that doesn't exist. Add promotional items by hand on the quote page instead - it takes a line of text and it reaches us the same way.
Which branding methods work on promotional products?
It depends entirely on the item. A powder-coated bottle, a woven bag and a moulded pen all take different processes - pad print, laser engraving, debossing, digital print and more. Our branding methods page lists the full range, but availability is always confirmed per product when we quote it.
Can I order apparel, print and promotional products together?
Yes, and it's worth doing. Quoted together they're set up as one job, which is what keeps the colours consistent across a uniform, a flyer and a branded bottle. It also means one conversation and one delivery rather than three.
Digital Showroom™
What is the Digital Showroom™?
Your own branded space holding your approved products, your artwork and your pricing, so ordering is a matter of picking from what's already been signed off rather than starting a quote from scratch each time. It's set up for you once you're a customer.
Is there a login for the main site?
No. Nothing on this website signs in. The Digital Showroom is separate and is set up for you individually.
Can different sites or departments order separately?
Yes. It handles multi-site distribution, approvals and conditional approvals, so a branch can order within limits you set while anything outside them comes to you first. Admins get their own dashboard, and it can be password protected.
Is that where I see prices?
Yes. Your Digital Showroom and any group store we set up for you carry your pricing, preloaded. Everywhere else on this site is quote-first, because what a job costs depends on the quantity, the decoration and the deadline.
Returns & refunds
Can I return or exchange product after it has been decorated?
Because all our products are custom-made, we don't accept returns or exchanges unless there's a fault with the product.
What if my order is faulty?
On the rare occasion you receive a product that isn't up to scratch, let us know via email or call within 7 days and our team will work out the best solution! We are committed to delivering exceptional products so whether it is a product or branding issue, rest assured, we'll figure it out!
What if I change my mind or ordered the wrong size?
Unfortunately, we can't accept returns for change of mind or incorrect sizing after an order has been approved and/or branded, so please check the size charts carefully before ordering!
Sizing
How do I get sizes right for a group?
Every product page has a size guide with real measurements. For group stores, each person picks their own size, which removes the problem entirely. For a bulk order, ask us about blank samples so you can check the fit before committing - up to five items per request, credited against your order if they come back within 14 days in original condition. Bear in mind a 5% variation in garment sizing is standard across batches and is not a fault.
Care
How should I wash decorated garments?
Cold water, maximum 40°C, turned inside out. Don't bleach, soak, tumble dry, or iron directly over prints. Embroidery: wash inside out, avoid ironing directly over stitching. UltraColour™: rated to 60°C, tested beyond 50 washes - still wash inside out. DTF and heat transfer vinyl: cold wash inside out, no tumble drying, no direct iron. Sublimation: the print is in the fibre, so normal garment care applies. Improper care can affect how long decoration lasts, and damage caused by not following these instructions isn't something we can cover.
How long it usually takes
Every one of these starts from artwork approval, not from when the order is placed.
These are typical rather than a ceiling, and every date is confirmed before you commit. Plenty of jobs move faster. If you are working to a deadline, tell us early and we'll tell you straight away whether it's achievable.
Need a handful of shirts quicker than that? Our sister brand, Tiddys, can complete orders in as little as three days when needed, with no minimum order quantities.

Fewer variables, better price.
Every order has variables: product type, colour, decoration type, logo size, logo colour. The fewer of them you change, the fewer separate production runs we need - which means a faster job and a lower unit price.
It's also why the most cohesive-looking uniform programs tend to be the cheapest ones. Consistency isn't just a brand decision.
See it before you commit
Blank samples
The undecorated garment, so you can check fit, fabric and colour. Charged at unit price plus freight; return it within 14 days in original condition and we credit the item cost against your order. Up to five items per request.
Pre-production samples
Your actual artwork, decorated, before we run the full job. Charged at a single-run rate, non-refundable, and it extends the lead time. Worth it on large or brand-critical orders.
Reference samples
Examples of work we've already done, free where we have them.
What “normal” looks like
Custom decoration has tolerances, and it's better to know them upfront than to discover them:
- Colour can vary by up to 10% between a screen proof and a finished garment
- Garment sizing varies by up to 5% batch to batch
- Print and embroidery placement can vary by up to 2cm
- Up to 3% spoilage is standard on a custom run - if you need an exact number, order a few extra
None of these are defects. If exact colour matters, ask us for a physical sample before the full run.
Still not covered? Talk to us or start a quote.
Tell us the date. We'll tell you how it's possible.
Most quotes come back the same business day. Give us quantity, branding and deadline, and we can usually map out a way to get there.
